Description 작품 소개

My Cancer Diary is the posthumous essay collection of novelist Kim Hakchan, who was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer at the age of thirty-nine. Rather than turning illness into a story of heroic struggle or redemption, Kim records the small decisions that continue to make up a life: whether to drink coffee, what book to read, when to work, and how to keep laughing.

His spare and controlled prose combines unsentimental reflection with wit and black humor. Written during treatment and left unfinished at his death in 2025, the book asks how meaning can be sustained when time has become visibly limited. It is a lucid and moving account of mortality, everyday life, and a writer’s determination to remain himself until the end.
