Shin Hankyun is a South Korean pottery artisan and novelist. Shin carries on traditional Joseon-era bowl-making techniques and displays his works at domestic and international galleries. In order to recreate the lives of Joseon-era pottery artisans who mastered Joseon white porcelain, which contributed to Japan’s economic rise, Shin wrote the epic historical novel Sinui geureut (신의 그릇 The Bowl of God) (2008). The novel tells the story of a Japanese pottery artisan who was dragged to Japan during the Imjin War. Park Sang-yeon (1972-) is a South Korean novelist. He also writes scripts and screenplays for TV drama series and films. He began his literary career in 1996 when he published his novel DMZ (DMZ DMZ) was published in the magazine World Literature. He mainly writes works that reinterpret and adapt historical materials to reality. Kim Chae-won (born 1946) is a South Korean writer.

Kim Hain is a South Korean novelist and poet born in 1962 in Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province. He rose to fame with his 2000 novel Gukhwakkot hyanggi (국화꽃 향기 The Scent of Chrysanthemums), which was adapted for the silver screen, television, and stage, joining the ranks of major pop cultural reference in the 2000s. Much of Kim's work has been translated for the Chinese market. Translations of Kim's work paved the way for other works of popular Korean fiction in the early 2000s, at the beginning of the Korean wave in China. The translation of Kim's Gukhwakkot hyanggi appeared in China in 2002, recording 6th place on the list of the 10 most popular novels in China that year.
