Nam Insook

Nam Insook is a South Korean novelist and essayist. Born in Seoul in 1974, she studied Korean literature at Sookmyung Women's University. She has worked as a screenwriter for televison and film. Her 2004 essay collection Yeojaui modeun insaengeun isipdaee gyeoljeongdoenda (여자의 모든 인생은 20대에 결정된다 Everything About a Woman's Life Is Decided in Her 20s) sold over 3.8 million copies in Korea and abroad. Translations of Nam's essays have been published in China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, and Mongolia, enjoying particular success in the Chinese market. The essays in Yeojaui modeun insaengeun isipdaee gyeoljeongdoenda are devoted to issues appealing to women in their 20s.
