김형경

Kim Hyoung Kyoung (1960-) is a South Korean novelist. She won the Munye Jungang New Writer’s Award for poetry in 1983 and made her literary debut in 1985 when her short story “Jugeum janchi” (죽음잔치 A Death Feast) was published in Literature and Thought in 1985. The main themes of her works are the lives of the marginalized people in the contemporary society and the voices of women. In particular, her description of women’s hidden desires and psychology received both critical and popular acclaim. 부산에서 태어났고, 부산교육대학교에서 초등교육을 전공했다. 동화 『어린이 시장 돌프』로 제2회 교보문고 동화공모전에서 대상을 받으며 작품 활동을 시작했다. 장편소설 『식스팩』으로 제9회 자음과모음 청소년문학상 대상을 수상했으며 현재 경기도에 거주하며 아이들을 가르치고 있다.

1977년 대구에서 출생했다. 2011년 『실천문학』에서 단편소설 「그러니까, 늘 그런」으로 등단했다. 2009년까지 학교 다닌 시간, 군대 복무한 시간을 빼고는 공장에서 살았다. 공장에서 살던 중 잠시 종합격투기 선수로 활동했으나 4승 8패의 초라한 성적으로 선수 생활을 마감했다. 이후 인쇄소, 출판사, 장애인 활동보조인 등 다양한 일을 했으며, 그 체험들을 소설로 풀어 쓰고 있다. 저서로는 장편소설 『안녕, 마징가』, 단편집 『초파리 왕국』 등이 있다.
